Does anyone have nerve pain from surgery?
Question:
Answers:
Absolutely. You could have any number of complications from the surgery, or you could have something new that is related to the surgery.
The fact that you have a desire to push on the spot indicates something is not right. A common complication from surgery is an accumulation of blood at the surgical site, and that can be dangerous. Talk to your doctor's nurse first, and she'll give you some priority on getting a new appointment.
I think it is expected to have some pain on pressing the operation site, however if your operation has been performed long back recurrance of disease is a possibility, so it is better to consult the surgeon who opearated u .
I had minor back surgery three years ago for two herniated discs that were pressing on a nerve. It was affecting my back and my left leg. Since the surgery, my back is much better but I still have nerve pain in my left leg. I also have diabetes, which could also be contributing to the nerve pain due to diabetic neuropathy. Sometimes it feels like pins and needles, very painful at times, sometimes almost numb. My doctor said that it is probably permanent. I waited about 2 years to have the surgery after the symptoms since the doctor wanted to try every other option before operating, and we believe that I waited too long. It can be quite painful. Sometimes I actually lose the feeling, and my left leg gives out, and down I go. I had my surgery at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. I feel like I had a very good surgeon, so I feel no fault of his.
