Answers:
I would probably splint it right away and then tape that finger to the longest one next to it. This will immobilize it and keep you from further damaging the finger. The most serious fracture that you can suffer would be an avulsion fracture, where a piece of bone breaks completely away from the finger. This can also be compounded in severity if it's at a site where a tendon attaches. But an xray would be a nice way to find out if this did occur.
if its broken you should really go to the dr, not much else besides that
go to the doctor, thats all I can say
Okay, your first mistake was continuing to do gymnastics with an injured finger. Your second was going home and looking for a way out of going to the doctor. Your third was asking us about this! You have to tell your parents and go to your doctor, your finger will never recover right if you don't. This could get to a stage where you can't even do gymnastics anymore. See a doctor!
You need to immobilize your finger. You can put a popsicle stick on the underside of your finger (to keep it from bending) and wrap tape around it. If the injury is at the knuckle as well, tape up the injured finger to the finger next to it to prevent movement. Ice will help the swelling.
FYI:you can usually buy a finger splint at any pharmacy.
Do this until you get to the doctor...you still need to have it evaluated.
it seems broken. apply cold compress. submit for a xray and consult your doctor for the xray result and for some meds for the swelling.
ice your finger( about 10 mins on 10 mins off) and you need to go to the ER for an x ray. it sounds broken to me though. and then if it is deffinly broken they will put it in a splint to it straight and still until it is healed. you should have stopped and put ice on it right away. how bad is the pain on a scale of one to ten?
