Chloraseptic. It is a spray found in any drugstore. It will numb your throat almost instantly relieving your symptoms.

My boyfriend has this thing he makes me do when my throat gets sore, but I don't think you'd enjoy it.
sucrets throat lozenges. they're cherry flavored, but they taste pretty good.
dont say anything outload, dont yell and have two glasses of cold water with you wherever u go, when ur throat hurts, then drink some, and it provides 4 seconds of pain relief!

Suck on hard candy, chew gum, spray chloraseptic (you can get this at a pharmacy and it works great), take tylenol if you can. If it's really bad and doesn't leave you should see a doctor in case it is strep.
Gargle with salt water and take some Tylenol. You can also try the Chlorseptic. If you have a fever over 100 or if the sore throat last more than a week, I'd consult a doctor. If there is a possibility it is allergy related, you could try an antihistamine.
A bottle of Nyquil, of course no more than the directions say. That way you can sleep through the sore throat. Two birds with one stone.

Buy liquid Benadryl for children, and do gargles with it, *don't* swallow it during the day unless you're at home and are able to get some sleep. The antihistamine will soothe you throat and because you say it itches, you are probably coughing. The liquid Benadryl will stop the coughing too.
Another advice my ENT gave me, have socks on. If your feet get cold, you'll cough more. Also, take one of those tube socks and cover your throat, if you have a turtle neck shirt, even better. It's not comfortable, but it will help your throat to heal faster.
If this don't work, see a doctor, it could be a serious infection.

get a glass of luke warm water then add a small amout of salt then gargle it...if it still ur throat sore use an oral antiseptic like hexetidine this solution will kills bacteria that gives you soothe and give you temporary relief of minor sore throat.
If your sore throat is caused by a post-nasal drip the pain is caused by irritation from the mucus. The best treatment for that is to suck on Altoids.it burns all that crud right off your throat. If you are running a fever go see your Dr.
