What the heck is wrong with me...?

Question:
My father worked his .. off all his life and he was even a two pack a day smoker. He Remodeled the house, worked a full time job, mowed the lawn, cleaned up the yard, painted the garage, put in a inground septic system, and leach field. and many other thing's over the course of the years. Me I'm 35 and smoke 1 pack a day, and I don't even have enough energy to finish mowing 1 lawn by hand with a push mower without feeling tired, dizzy, worthless, unmotivated, and depressed? about what I have no clue, I have ADD but don't let that bother me, or I at least try not to. I have 8 regulars I mow a week, usually in Sat.-Sun. and some day's I can do all 8 literally forcing myself to finish then all. No doctor has any explanation as to why I feel this way, Thyroid Gland is fine, Physical's fine they just told me I have to try and quit smoking like they tell everyone who smokes anyway's, This is also the reason preventing me from working full time, I feel this way all the time, but why?

Answers:
It sounds like you might be clinically depressed. Ask your doctor for a referral to be psychologically evaluated for depression. You can be treated with a combination of meds and counseling.
I dunno man...I'm kinda in the same boat only I'm coming out of it. Getting motivation back after some severly messed up last seven years. I would say, get some small goals, and work towards em. then, when you accomplish them, set bigger ones. etc. pretty quick, you'll be back in the game of life.
Has the doctor mentioned depression to you? You would be surprised how being depressed wipes all your energy out. I was put on meds 3 years ago and feel much better physically and of course mentally. You should bring this up at your next appt.
First, I dont know where you live, but if I mow the lawn at noon here in FL I feel like Im dying. You need to mow in cool weather. Also, make sure you drink plenty of water. Dehydration can make you feel dizzy and tired. Also, if you are feeling like this on normal slow days, you should consider doing endurance workouts and maybe take some Vitamin B.

**Stop smoking... it will help too. Not only are your lungs filled with all the tar from smoking as an adult, but also from all the smoke from you dad growing up.
It sounds like your father was conditioned for the hard work. It takes time to work up to that kind of excersise. If you quit smoking it will help, but more then likely you just arent conditioned. Your not your dad.

Jer
I think what you need to do. Is drink 6 glasses of water a day for 2 days. Eat some pasta.

Then, get your butt out of the house and go run down the horizon until you have to call your wife to come pick you up.

1. Running is good

2. It would help you beat this mind game you're playing with yourself... can't finish a lawn?

3 it will familiarize you with what your body is capable of. It starts to kick and weeze a bit? So what? you ainit dead yet there grandpa get your butt in gear and keep running.

Put maniac and eye of the tiger in your ipod/headphones whatever and hit the stinkin road you quitter before you end up in a walker wondering what the hell happend.

Sometimes you gotta give that Azz some tough love.
One of my relatives had this problem and he tried something that really helped him - maybe it will help you too

drink fresh lime water first thing in the morning - as soon as you brush your teeth (ie before u eat anything else) and soak 4 almonds overnight. In the morning - peel the skin off the almonds and eat the white core with lime water.
Medications will do this, are you taking anything .
state of mind? ambition.
