When you first injure your back, the best thing is ice. But once the injury is old, heat is the best. Try resting for a whole day on your back with heat on it for 20 minutes then off for a bit, then heat again. Advil is good for anti-inflammatory reasons. If it does not get better, you should consult a doctor or chiropractor.

Consider seeing a chiropractor. Alternative medicine may seem weird, but I had back pain for a week.went to the doctor, took the muscle relaxers, did the stretches the dr told me to do, heating pad, and so on.then on the 6th day (the day before I was to leave for a much needed vacation to Hawaii), I went to see a Chiropractor. He adjusted me, gave me an ice pack, and sent me on my way. I was shocked! I could actually walk without hunching over AND was fine throughout my vacation.
Make an appointment with a doctor, but in the mean time, try using heat and ice treatments, if you can have somebody to give you a massage, try that as well. Don't treat pain with pain killers because they do not allow your body to heal...
Back pain is very difficult to manage. If you have been in pain for 3 days you should consider seeing your Dr. In the meantime try taking the Advil every 4 hours...it wont work if you dont take it on a schedule. Try alternating ice packs and heat for 20 min each. Also you could try laying on the floor with your legs propped up, that takes pressure off the lower back. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
well, first of all, Advil is a pain releaver, not a cure for it. and second,try an icy hot patch. it switches from heat to cold, which is a good remedy for pain.

Advil doesn't always help you. You should stretch and take up yoga.Yoga is a good way to untangle your pain.
