IS ICING ALL DAY LONG a BAD THING?

yes. icing all day long is definitely a bad thing.
i'm not exactly sure what it does to them, but i know it causes nerve damage.

if you need to ice. ice 15 minutes on 15 minutes off for 2 hours. (make sure your ice is wrapped in a paper towel) and then talk a half an hour to an hour off. and repeat it.

Depends what the injury is.

Icing slows blood flow to the injured area to help prevent bruising and swelling.
Also you shouldn't be using an ice pack directly on the skin, it can cause your nerves and skin some damage if it's on long enough, like say a few hours or all day.

Doing the 15min on 15 min off thing all day wont kill you, it could worsen the injury if it's muscle related...then you should be using heat, or a mixture of heat and ice.
If you fell and banged your knee up, icing at first helps but by the end of the day you wont be getting any extra benefits besides a cold knee and you could be causing extra harm.
