Answers:
charlie horse i love that word i always scream it out when im about to hurt myself CHARLIE HORSE
Rub it out or use icy hot..
Potassium, and lots of it! Start taking a supplement or turn into a monkey and eat a lot of bananas...either or.
Tell Charlie to come get it and take it back where it belongs !
eat banana or juice (oj)
broccoli all rich in potassium.
stay away from coffee, caffeine right now!
stretch it and massage and keep pumping it. you have sweated out to much potassium and other minerals. electrolytes are low. take potassium pills unless you have a heart problem. dont overdo the taking of minails. more of a problem when you get old like i have. potassium tends to make you hold water and can have side affects on a heart patient who is taking other stuff like beta blockers eetc.
you need to drink lots of water everyday, get foods high in potassium and zinc. that is a preventive. you still HAVE to get up and walk them off because there is no real sure quick cure. you could try stretching the effected leg or foot really hard and flex your foot against the pain. for instance, if the charlie is in your calf, stretch your leg out straight and force your foot to bend toward your head at the ankle. if it is in your foot, you got to get up and walk it off.
Tonic water is good for cramps, because it contains quinine. You should try to stretch you muscles in you legs and circle you feet to improve circulation. Do you have a back problem? If so, a trip to see your dr may be a good idea. Foods high in pottasium are good for cramps, such as; All meats, poultry and fish are high in potassium.
Apricots (fresh more so than canned) Avocado Banana Cantaloupe Honeydew Kiwi Lima beans Milk Oranges and orange juice Potatoes (can be reduced to moderate by soaking peeled, sliced potatoes overnight before cooking)
Prunes Spinach Tomatoes Vegetable juice Winter squash. Oh yes, as an instant cure, Stand on something cold like a concrete floor or lino (linoleum). It will go immediately.
There's no reason to fear walking on it. Mine go away more quickly when I walk them out versus trying to massage them out.

If you choose not to walk however you can massage the area, or use heat.

Muscle cramps are often due to a potassium (vitamin K) deficiency. Most over the counter supplements aren't absorbed by the body well though, so make sure you are getting plenty of potassium in the foods you eat.

If you sweat a lot, or have vomited a lot, that can cause dehydration which can contribute to a potassium deficiency. If you cannot get the issue under control, speak to your doctor.
This is the first place your body targets when you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water! I recommend purified water and mineral water mixed 50/50. The mineral water is going to put back into the muscles what they are losing on a daily basis.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body. One tip for athletes: it is healthier to drink a sports drink or water than fruit juice, soda, coffee, or milk during competition or active training periods.

In the evening take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. Afterwards , if you have something shaped like a cylinder and made out of hard material (think of a large rolling pin you would use for pizza dough or something) place it under your leg and push down and roll it back and forth...this should massage the spasms out of your leg. It will hurt while you're doing it, but more so the type of pain that actually feels good, in the long run.
