Question regarding applying gauze to an open wound?
Question:
Answers:
Id use duct tape
Unless the wound is draining or hurts if the covers rub on it leave it open to air for the night to help it heal. I would use bandaide to hold the gauze on if you really must cover it for the night.
Where is the wound there probably are other things that you can use depending on the site?
I would try masking tape before scotch tape, but either will work.
When i run out of skin tape I use band aids. I guess scotch tape will work. It is a little harsh. I would use somthing that would stick a little better.
Put a layer of the tape sticky side up around the gauze wrapping it around the leg, arm, etc.. if you can so it does not irritate the skin, just don't get it too tight. Then wrap the next layer right on top of the first layer, but sticky side down. That way it cannot irritate your skin. Hope this helps!
Do you have any lunch wrap plastic? In Australia it is called 'glad wrap' or 'cling wrap'. If so apply your gauze and then bandage around the area with the plastic.
This product is often used in first aid for burns.
Alison is right on, using clear plastic wrap is the way to go.
