Answers:
Like it's been says, you can pretty much always feel it, but that's not necessarily uncomfortable or constant. If you want always pads, I'd recommend using these ones since your period is likely fairly light on the first one, and since these are extra thin (I used them on my first one, lol!):
Always Ultra Thin Slender with Flexi-Wings
You can find them on their website:http://www.alwayscanada.com/ca_en/always...
But, I prefer kotex in general. They're more comfortable in my opinion, so if you don't mind a different brand than always, I'd recommend these ones: http://www.kotex.com/na/products/ultrath...
They are also thin but more comfortable than the always
You can always feel when you use a pad. If you flow is light just use a regular absobency but if it is heavy then use a super absorbency. If you want something you won't feel then use tampons or a menstrual cup.
you can always feel your pad, but that doesnt neccessarily mean it will be uncomfortable. I think you should use the max absorb on heavy days and the less absorbent on light. if you want to be safe, you can always use maximum absorb. i also would go for a panty liner.

also use tampons if you dont want to have a pad. they are kind of weird to use at first but after awhile you get used to it and its like its not there.

hope this helps!
