Sharp knee pain sparadically, help!?

Question:
I work on a dock at a department store doing some heavy lifting, but more walking and standing. The last few months my knee has started acting up and I get a really sharp pain below my right patella. I try to rest it when I can, but we dont have a chance to sit a lot at work. My parents say they'll get me into a doctor soon, but I'm just wondering if anyone's ever had anything like this before and what exactly was wrong? I dont think it's tendinitis, but maybe bursitis?
Let me know, thanks!

Answers:
Sounds like either patella tendinitis or patellofemoral syndrome. Its a good idea to see an orthopedic doctor to have the knee properly assessed. In the meantime try to put an ice bag directly on the skin for 15 mins at least once a day and take an over the counter anti-inflammatory (advil, aleve) as directed on the bottle.
Most likely is muscles - massage therapist for fastest releif. Info The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies - great teaching tool.
Possibility of body being misaligned - chiropractor.
Eat mostly fruits, vegies lean meats.
Drink non sugar liquids (your weight divided by 2 times ounces) daily - sugar increases pain (not to mention weight).
