Contacts hurt right?

Question:
i was bout to get contacts but putting them in the docter did for me and it hurt and then taking them out my mom had to so much pain i was like i cant get them is it like that the first time or all the time?

Answers:
Do you have hard or soft lenses? I've always worn soft, and they are very comfortable. It takes a little time to get used to them. Do NOT let anyone put them in or take them out for you. You are the only one who knows what hurts. If they hurt when put in, take them back. Let your doctor know how you feel. Maybe contacts are not for you.
noo it is just the first time probably
contacts really don't hurt
well i had soft contact and i wore them for ten years before i had eye surgery and they never hurt
you usually get used to it, but I hated them wore them for years and didn't take them out because it was a pain to get them in and out.

I would steer clear .
They might be uncomfortable the first few times. but it shouldn't actually HURT. Talk to your eye doc about this.
not at all
it just seems weird at first!
make sure you're putting them in the right way, too!
and don't use the same pair for a long time, and change your solution EVERY night otherwise they can sting really bad! but otherwise they should be fine
i have contacts and the only time they hurt is when they aren't clean - so just make sure you are cleaning and changing them properly and you should be fine!!
You get used to them after a while. Once you get good at putting them in and taking them out, they don't hurt.
I got contact when I was 12 yrs old and I can remember getting up 2 hrs early to put the damn contacts in. But over the years it became a lot easier. Your eyes just have to get use to them. it is really worth it in the long run. keep with it. Everything takes time.
They itch a lot. and sometimes they move lot and stick inside ur eyelid...they´re dangerous.
Contacts will not always hurt but: Lasik rocks.
sometimes it hurts the first time. another thing you might want to look into is if the contact is in backwards (yes it can happen) set the contact on the tip of your finger and look at it.if it looks like a deep bowl then it's correct.if it looks like it has slanted sides that poke out at teh edges it's backwards. I have put backwards contacts in and it does hurt. what's worse is it hurts you want to take them out but can't open your eye b/c it hurts. Practice will make the process less painful (can put contacts in under 10 seconds now). There will be days when it seems you cant' get them in and days where they pop in no problem. dont give up and keep practicing.

side note if you put them in over the sink then lay a rag over the drain. I've nearly lost several pair like that. if the contact falls you can pick it off the rag.
When I first got my contacts...I thought I would never wear them again once I got them out. It burns and is irritating at first...once you get used to them you won't even realize they are there. I have found that having some extra contact solution on them helps them go in easier...also buy some rewetting drops, they are great for when your eyes get dry and irritated.
Don't give up on them yet, the doctor wouldn't have prescribed them for you if he did not feel them as safe for you.
thats true you can use glasses because it wont make you feel pain and your eye condition will not be worse by the tim e you will get old
