Rls is making me miserable, please help.?

Question:
I have severe RLS. My doctor will not prescribe requipt due to side effects. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am severly anemic and run low on B12 all the time but these factors cannot be aleviated (we have tried for 4 years). I take regular supplements and my hemoglobin still runs around 7.5 to 8 with supplements so I know that has some bearing on it. I am looking for more suggestions to relieve the pain. It is the feeling of being constantly electrocuted. I am nearly in tears over it nearly every night and it gets worse as time goes on. please tell me what works for you (other RLS suffers). Thank you!!

Answers:
I agree that you should get a second opinion. When you go, be sure to share all of your medical issues, but it's always worth a shot to talk with someone else.
I have RLS.If your doc won't give you requipt, ask for a script of Mirapex. That's what I take and it works great!
Honey, I suffer from Chronic Pain and have MS. I am so sorry you hurt so badly and I can say that I truly understand. I receive pain medication, and a medication that helps my nerves a little. I get electrocuted too. One thing I do is relaxation therapy, and I KNOW it's hard to relax but at times it does work. Another thing, do you swim? Being weightless in the water really helps!!
Get a second opinion on all your medical problems. Sometimes a different doctor has more knowledge or is more willing to help. I take Requip for RLS and it works fairly well. As for side effects, they usually go away after a few days. Take care.
