Finger problem?

Question:
I had surgery about two weeks ago on my right index finger had to have something removed from it they cut the inside of the finger to remove the object and now half the finger is numb instead of part of the time all of the time and is still swollen I was just wondering if I just need to be patient and give it more time and not freak out over it.

Answers:
I had surgery on my thumb about 3 years ago. Yes it is normal to have numbness and tingling. There lots of nerve endings in the hand and fingers. Massaging the area gently will help some. Eventually with time most if not all of the feeling will come back. Sometimes though, it will not return at all. But that is rare. It took about three months for the feeling in my thumb to come back completely. Half of it was numb for almost the whole three months.

Goodluck!!
sounds like it could be nerve damage...if its not any better in a month find a neurologist.it can be fixed if that is the problem
