It hurts and my mom doesnt believe me :( :( i'm 13?

Question:
on wednesday i was in the pool (i live in spain) and i think i twisted my ankle, but when i came out, it didnt hurt, it just felt weak. on thursday when i got up my foot really hurt and it was a little swollen but no bruising, so i iced it and the swelling went down and put my ankle support on, and limped around the house all day(my mom was at work). yesterday when i got up it really hurt, even more, so i could hardly walk, and when my mom got home she started shouting at me saying i was pretending to be hurt for attention cause my best friend has just moved and i wont see her anymore. my ankle really hurts and i think i might have a grade II sprain(looked on the internet)and it will have to be plastered or bandaged, but my mom wont take me to the hospital or doctors cause on tuesday i go on holiday to the UK, and she says i wont beable to fly if i'm on crutches...
please tell me what to do...my ankle really hurts, and if i leave it it will get worse, what should i tell her? (i'm 13)

Answers:
Hey!! dont just leave it dis is a big problem i had it myself and i didnt care abt but it gets worse and worse.u try and pursuade ur mom to tke u the hospital.if its possible talk 2 ur dad.and if sadly no one listens to u just get a taxi and go by urself bkoz ur ankle is more important den hols in uk.dont leave it if it really hurts.if u dont do anything now.it will go with ur 4 ur life.dats all i would say.GOOD LUCK
whats probably annoying your mum is the medical bill she will pay if it is broke maybe she's thinking if its still sore in the uk at least she hasn't a big bill to pay if you see a uk doctor.

Is there anyone else can take you ?
try moving it about bit more if you can it might just be stiff but go see your mum and explain its still sore .
Do you have any other adults besides your mum? Go to them for help.

See a doctor first before your injuries gets worse them explain to your mum that you are not pretending.

Get going and do it fast.
Is there a relative you can call for help? Call a relative and explain the situation.
I'm sorry but if its still that bad, walking on it could actually cause further damage unless properly bandaged or a cast put on. You need to tell your mother you need to see a doctor and also... your mom needs to know that yes you can fly with crutches, I've seen many people do it! I've seen wheel chair bound people who fly.

Do whatever you have to do to get her to take you in to the doctor and have an X-ray done on it.
You should get it checked and plastered if needed and you can fly if you are on crutches and there is no medical reason why you would not be able to fly
If it is really twisted there should be swelling, bruising, so if it is show her the symptoms and she must take you to a doctor ,as if left could cause more damage to the area which could make your foot stiff and crippled
If she won`t then ask your dad or go to a hospital your self as a doctor will know if it is really damaged
Tell her to LOOK AT YOUR ANKLE as you look with her. Did you tell her what happened? If not, tell her ALL of the details. Even if you wind up on crutches, there SHOULD BE no flight restriction---for other apparatuses (such as wheelchairs), there are. Check with the airline on which you both intend to fly before you go. Either way regarding your ankle, most doctors and/or emergency rooms will let you pay the bill out.
So sorry you sound so upset. You have probably just sprained your ankle and I am really sad that your Mum is not taking it seriously. If you can walk at all on it, then you haven't done too much damage and just need to rest it. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet it probably doesn't need plastering or anything as drastic as that. It's rubbish to say you can't fly if you are on crutches so tell your mum that, I flew back from New Zealand last year having sprained my ankle and I was on crutches and the airport staff looked after me brilliantly. Try not to worry - don't do too much on your ankle and it will soon improve. Think your Mum is awful for not helping you. Take care.
Aw, sorry hun! I know how that goes, my mom didn't take my brother to the doctor for a week, and his foot was broken!

You really need to explain to your mom that you really are in pain. No shouting or yelling. But in the meantime, remember RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. So pop in some good movies, but some ice on it, and elevate it above your heart.

Take some ibuprofen to take down the swelling, and try not to walk. Good luck!
Sweetie, I have sparained my ankle many many times, the same one since I was a child. To me it sounds like a classic sprain. I have had a cast on for it. I wound up taking it off, it just itched like nuts. so now when I sprain it, the dr's bandage it up, and put a soft support cast on. They do try to make me use crutches, but I have another illness which greatly hurts my balance, so I cant use them. my suggestion is from now until you go on holiday on tuesday you keep it wraped tight in an ace bandage (thats what it is called in the US) and if you have a soft cast use that. Ice it for 20 min every 1-2 hours. If you can talk your mom into it, get an xray to be sure. even if you are on crutches, I see no reason why you cant go to the UK. But she may need to see it swollen for herself. Of all my sprains I dont recall them ever being bruised, just swollen and painful.
Hope this helps a bit
I HAD A SPRAINED ANKLE AND I COODNT WALK.WELL U COOD TELL UR DAD OR SUM1 ELSE AND IF NO1 LISTENS THEN GO 2 DA DOC OR HOSPITAL BY URSELF
THE BEST OF LUC:) XXX
I think your mother's in denial because of the difficulty of getting time off work. Can you take yourself? I did at your age. You need attention, as this kind of injury can come back to haunt you later on if it isn't dealt with. If you do end up on crutches, you can certainly fly (I recently travelled next to a man on crutches) and they will have to supply you with a wheel chair at the airport, which means that you will be able to avoid all the baggage and other queues. Don't neglect this: you need to stage some sort of recovery to enjoy your holiday at all.
Hi, it wont be broken or it would be very bruised by now.
Ask for some pain relief and anti inflamatory medicaltion from your mum. When you are resting make sure your ankle is above the height of your shoulders and the swelling will go down.
It does sound like a sprain and I am sure it will get better soon.
Take care and enjoy your holiday.
