I have Chronic Myofascial Pain...I need some advice...?

Question:
I have trouble raising my arms and extending them too. Is CMP why I have such problems or is it my Fibromyalgia? I thought it was moving my muscles was causing the pain. So it would be the CMP, right? My boss told me to get the windex out and clean the glass cabinets. I went into full torso muscle constriction. I told my boss I couldn't do that ever again. She said yes you will or you will be going back to the doctor for a new note!
So --- do you think it's the CMP or the FM?
Anyone else have such problems...?
full torso muscle constriction...
I have this a lot!

Answers:
It may be a combination of the two. Are you on medication for muscle spasms? If it isn't working well you may want to talk to your doctor about a new prescription.

As for your boss, she needs to lighten up. Is cleaning the glass part of your job description? Sounds like Janitor work to me. If your doctor says you can't do this then make sure he puts it in writing and you keep a copy of it in case your boss wants to make an issue out of it.

Hope you feel better. Take care.
I sympathize with you. I have FM. Have had it for 6yrs. now. You need to be seen by a rhumatologist, or your family doctor to rule everything else out. You have to have pain in at least11 of the 18
trigger points for it to be FM. I hope you don't have it, its a very unpredictable life altering illness. Good luck
either one of these conditions is going to make it difficult for you to move your muscles like an average person.

Here's a list of the symptoms for Fibromyalgia.

Here is a brief list of common symptoms of this disease:

Chronic pain throughout the body
Burning, numbness and tingling
Tenderness when pressure is placed on or around the neck, elbows, hips, thighs and knees.
Sleep disorders
Chronic fatigue or exhaustion
Depression
Anxiety
Facial Pain
Jaw Pain (TMJ)
Memory Loss
Irritable Bowel
Tension or Migraine Headaches
High sensitivity to foods and medications (allergic type reaction).
Minimal tolerance to heat and cold
High sensitivity to bright lights and sounds
Hair Loss

Because symptoms develop gradually, this disease is often misdiagnosed. It is often diagnosed as a repetitive strain injury; sleep disorder condition, irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis or any other type of medical problem. Based on the American College of Rheumatology a person is diagnosed with Fibromylagia when he or she suffers pain throughout the body for at least three months and has 11 out of 18 tender points present.

See a doctor rheumatology to find out exactly what is causing your problem. I have Fibromyalgia and understand suffering.
