I cant sleep!?

Question:
I've been having trouble sleeping lately. I took two excedrin tonight to help me fall asleep. i went to sleep at 11:30PM and woke up at 2:30PM. Im wide awake I can not sleep! Does this sound like I have insomnia?

im scared to get sleeping pills because i have heard horrible stories about Ambien and other sleep meds. I dont want to have severe sleep walking!

I wake up every morning around 8.so its not like im sleeping late.

Help!

Answers:
Go to a sleep doctor. You will have to stay over night in there office, but they monitor you and you find out quickly what the problem is!
Ok to begin with, excedrin has caffine in it. If you need a pain releiver, take tylenol or advil. If this is an isolated incident, and you don't normally do this, I would attribute it to the excedrin. If you do this often, then I would look at your habits. Do you ingest caffine before bed, do you exercise before bed? If so, stop both. If not, try some relaxation techniques music, bubble bath, warm milk, whatever helps you to relax and just fall into sleep. If you continue to have problems, you can try over the counter meds, Unisom, or even tylenol PM. There are safe sleep meds out there, if it is interrupting your life, it is worth seeking help for. Good Luck
Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress,
dietary and medical problems. By making
small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly,
insomnia can be cured. I found the information
at http://www.nosleep.in/insomniacause.html...
Exedrin has caffeine. NO caffeine at all.
