How to prevent and treat ankle joint pain at home?
Question:
Sometimes when I walk a lot, run, or hike I get a dull pain in my left ankle, right below the end of the fibula(the bump on the outside of your ankle). Often times, it comes with a grinding feeling in the area.
Basically I know what it most likely is, and cannot afford professional treatment or even glucosamine tablets at the moment.(Anything less than $30-40 for a 1-month supply doesnt really work)
What I want to know is what I can do at home with a small budget to treat or prevent this?
(Was thinking ankle brace and/or arch support pads in shoes, but want other options, and opinions on these)
Answers:
Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like that caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain. Try taking cod liver oil or Fish OIl capsules, amazing how these can help the joints. And drink lots of water, again, drinking fluids really does help the joints.
