Seniors, can you help me? I am in so much pain.?

Question:
I have recently been put on Social Security Disability because of all the pain . My doctors keep giving me different diagnoses. It is hugely affecting me spine and my feet burn like I have been walking on hot charcoals all night. I am so stiff, can't get out of bed with out my pain medication. I have been diagnosed with everything from degenerative spine to arthritic spine to fibromyalgia. It is affecting my entire body, my hands, my legs, my back is killing me. Do you have anything like this and what is it? Do you have any recommendations on how to loosen my spine and relieve the pain? Does Castor Oil help? If you suffer from any thing like this please advise me. Thank You.

Answers:
There's no definite cure for Fibromyalagia but there are certainly many alternative methods that can help you improve the quality of your life. Physical therapy that is performed at home is very important . Deep tissue massage therapy can relieve the pain better than any medication. Warm water stretches performed at least three times weekly can be of tremendous help keeping the joints and muscles flexible. A Jacuzzi or hot tub is without a doubt one of the best treatments you can do at home, not only does it improve circulation you can also perform warm water stretches in it. If you have access to one and can use this daily you would see a tremendous change in the body. Using a moist heating pad on areas of pain for 20 minutes can ease the pain.

I also find that chiropractic care can bring tremendous relief. I always recommend people with Fibromyalgia seek out a Chiropractor who uses the activator method for physical therapy and pain relief. If you would like to find out about a doctor of chiropractic in your area who uses this method go to http://www.activator.com

Nutrition is very important with this condition as with any serious physical condition. Avoid caffeine products, sugar, processed foods and fried foods. Low blood sugar (Hypoglycemia) is often a factor in causing the person with Fibromyalgia to feel fatigued. That is why a good nutrition program is very important, eating frequent small meals with some protein is very important in keeping the blood levels even.

Whole grains, seeds, nuts, yogurt, chicken, Turkey, organic beef, eggs, natural cheese and cottage cheese should form the base of your diet. Accompanied by Appropriate vegetables and a minimum amount of fruit.

A good quality multi-vitamin is absolutely essential with this condition. It's important to replace what the body loses daily. If a person takes no other supplement but a multi-vitamin they're helping to support their body daily.
sounds alot like fibromyalgia..but the feet symptoms sound like neuropathy. I have fibro, my Mom and daughter have neuropathy in their feet. I do stretch excerises. Some days nothing helps though.
Back pain is the worst and probably the most difficult to diagnose. It could be anyone of those things. Or combination of those things.

If I were you I would try to get a referral to a neurosurgeon. If you don't have a recent MRI he will most likely want you to have one. So that he can determine the source(s) of your pain.

Good Luck

My husband has very bad back problems and has had two fusions and now has arthritic inflammation in the Lumbar. It took several years to find the right doctor who would listen to him and get to the root of the problems..
Have you been to a neurologist, If not see one.
I can't help with what is wrong but it sounds like you need to see a pain specialist who specializes in pain and managing your pain ask your doctor to refer you or check around in you area
Billy 77 has it down pat if you have fibromyalgia. I had degenerative disc disease that became "failed back syndrome" after 6 microdiscectomies and then a fusion. My sciatic nerve is completely mangled. However, since the pain is everywhere, it may well be fibromyalgia. It could be rheumatoid arthritis, although that doesn't affect the back (but pain stress can). Glucosamine chondroitin with MSM helps to replace the fluid in your joints. If you've been told to do physical therapy, just do it.
No pain, no gain. Have your hubby give you body rubs. Try to keep moving. Web search the different diagnoses you've been given for more help. Best of luck to you, from another chronic pain sufferer.
