Tingling in hands?

Question:
I have had tingling, pins and needles in my hands for approx. four months. No other pain, shoulder, neck, back etc. Was tested for carpal tunnel and spinal, neck it was all negative.
It seems to have out of nowhere, some evenings are great no pain and others I wake up with stiffness in fingers pins and needles. Once the arm is straightened its all okay. Could this be a nerve problem or some sort of stress, health problem? or could this have happened while lifting or doing some sort of work?

Answers:
I have had that for what seems like forever...except I have pain in my wrists and stiffening of fingers - I can hardly make a fist with either hand. And, I have been diabetic for 20+ yrs. One dr. sent me recently for rheumatiod arthritis blood tests - dont have them back yet. He said I don't have carpal tunnel but I beg to differ. I use my hands a lot at work lots of repative motion. Not sure what your case may be but I have noticed when I have the tingling feeling my blood sugar is usually low.
have you checked for diabetes?
