Generally little toe fractures are managed by what is called 'buddy strapping'. The toe is padded and then strapped to the next toe. It take 2-4 weeks to heal.
If you can move it it is not broken but you should seek medical advice to make sure it will heal the right way .
thery can't do anything about it but best bet is to call to see if they thing you should come in. At best they will give you a bandage and some painkillers
There is not a whole lot that they can do with a broken toe. If you are able to immobilize it and wrap it thats about what they do at the Hospital.
Ouchh!!
My mum broke her lil toe once without even knowing!! Haa can ou beleive it lol!??
Go to the hospital!!
might be worth a trip if the break feels like it went up into your foot. However if it didn't, all they'll do is tape the baby toe to the neighboring toe and call it a day (oh and charge you way too much). If it's not bothering you too much just tape it and try to stay off your feet as much as you can. I've broken my big toe and that's all that I did, it's fine now. Ice it if it's swelling, after that use moist warm heat -twenty minutes on, twenty off- that'll increase blood flow and help it heal.
oh yes, a trip to AnE is a good move. it wasn't a 'trip' that broke your toe was it? if that's the case you'd best stay at home or it might be your foot the next time! hope it gets better soon.
no. i have broken my baby toe by stubbing it. it wont effect your walking and it is too small to be pit in a cast. just try to rest abit.
There's not much that can be done with a broken toe. Buddy bandage it (tape it to the next toe) and take Advil to reduce any pain or swelling.
not much they can do for a broke toe exept perscribe pain meds
i would still go to A&E as u may have done more damage than you think
they wont bandage it or anything but go to A&E
they wont do anything, it is painful, try to stay off it,, you can tape it to the other toe
No, waste of time going hospital.
At best they will just tape it to the next toe.
At worst they may pin it, which hurts like hell.
I broke the toe next to the big one (the one that 'stayed at home' lol)
It hurt allot the day i did it & i could hardly walk,
The next day there was allot of bruising but i could walk round like nothing had happend(that toe isn't weight baring)
The only thing i did was wear trainers for a couple of weeks, to avoid squeezing it into shoes. Also i took a multi mineral supliment to help the bone repair itself quickly. After a couple of weeks it was like normal. :-)
On average you break your little toe SEVEN times a year, I know this as when i hurt my foot last week i went to A&E And they did a X-Ray and told me that my toe was broken but it wouldnt affect my balance.
Because the bone is so small, there is nothing they can do. You just have to let it heal on it's own. Try to keep the weight off it for as long as you can though.
Funny you should ask this, Sunday of this past week I broke my 4th and 5th little toes. I was not concerned about the toes but thought I might have fractured the side of my foot. I wrapped my toes in coban and elevated my foot. The next day my foot hurt worse, I went to the docor, he also thought I had fx the side of my foot, but I didn't. Yesterday dumb me got up to put some clothes in the dryer without any support on my feet and hit my toes again on my son's steel toes boots. Needless to say I have wrapped my toes again and am keeping my foot elevated.
Good Luck!
theres nothing they can do, u should strap it to the next toe. it will heal but will take severalweeks. my friend broke one of her toes hitting it on a supermarket trolley. it was totally black but hospital said nothing to do. she strapped it up and wore flip flops but it took weeks to feel and look better.
