I got injured at work, had ACL surgery. What kind of settlement could I expect. Ball park figure.?
Question:
The lawyer I have is sorta not telling me anything.
Answers:
Lawyers are terrible communicators and they will drop the ball on your case if you let them.
I went through this 3-4 years ago and the lawyers did not have a clue about my case when it went to court.
My case took about 22 months and that included the appeal my employer did and that appeal cost me about 8,000 dollars. I ended up with 25% disability and received about 15,000 after the lawyers share.
The amount received will depend upon what state you reside and the % of disability you receive. Generally the employers doc will say 5-10% disability and your doc will say 35-50% and the court will end up decided how much you will be awarded.
In the mean while your credit will be ruined unless your lucky they handle the medical bills better than they did for me.
See me profile and e-mail me if you have any more questions.
Good luck!
Were you covered by Workman's Compensation ? They are the ones to see. I also have to assume that you are still working for DHL. Companies don't like you to file a claim with Workman's Comp. because it will raise their insurance premiums.
