Hi my son is 24 yrs old. He had septic arthrities of d left hip in his child hood .?

Question:
Due to that his hip joint and the femur bone have been destructed. When he stated walking , which was at the age of 4, he started to bend his left knee to compensate the ht. Now the doctors have suggested full hip replacement surgery for him. But before that they operated for his left knee to release his tightend muscles , tendons and hamstrings. The cast(plaster of paris) didnt suit him as he developed no sensation on his left leg so the doctors put a detachable(braces) plaster on his leg. It has a nut and screw under it which has to be tightend evey six hrs so that his knee gets slowly straightend. Now d problem is he is having severe pain in his leg and after taking pain killers , it is not reduced much. He is not able to sleep at night after taking sleeping pills. i,e alphrax .5 mg. Now i want to know that how long will it take to staighten fully? Will it be paining like this only? can he take the sleeping pills regularly? Wont it have any side effect? Please anwer me. thank you

There is an alternative
I have spent the last 17 years rebuilding muscles using a chiropractor who uses a tool called an activator and a massage therapist. The chiropractor is a muscle speciallist and researcher. Muscles need magnisium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium.
Suggested amount of non-sugar drinks daily is not just the 8 glasses of water per day (which was come up with before most people were overweight) - a more accurate amount is (your weight divided by 2 times ounces)
The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies can tell you a lot more.
I'm sorry to hear your son is in such pain. You should have the doctor prescribe him some Demerol( a stronger pain medication). I'm afraid he will have pain until this ordeal is over and maybe some after wards as well. You should get him some Melatonin, a natural non addiction sleep aid. Actually after rethinking this he may need something stronger to sleep as well. Demerol does tend to help you sleep though. Check with the doctor. I would call him right now and get him to phone a prescription for him. He needs some relief now. Good Luck
