One of my friends was always running with a knee brace during track practice. She had talked about knee pain for a long time and sometimes wasn't able to run at all. So she finally went to a doctor and found that her knee was really screwed up. So she had surgery this past spring and has recovered quite well and is almost done with therapy. She is very happy with the results and is going to run cross country this fall! Good luck with your knee, and I hope you get better. Just hang in there! :-)
Tore mcl a long time ago got scoped took about a year till it was normal. Other leg ripped meniscus (hurt like *(&*&) was being a knuckle head at the gym 275lb leg extensions last set next to last one a little kid walked by and said hi, felt big pop and it hurt like heck. Got it scoped and had some arthritis scrapped. Took a long time to rehab , no more hockey no more monster squats, bites getting old.
Well, I didn't tear anything in my knee, but I did have a major knee surgery 2 years ago next month. I had my bone sawed in half, screws put in it, a peice of cartledge removed, some tissues torn out and all kinds of stuff. I was in rehab for 6 months that time and I was in it before my surgery so I have spent a total of 9 months in there. I hated it, and I got so discouraged I would cry. All I can tell you is to hang in there, and one day you will go in and something will happen and it will start going better. I always wore my socks to thearpy that helped my pain for some reason? A big part of it is liking your PT if you don't like him/her then you won't do as well. I LOVED my PT all I can tell you is that it is a long painful journey but it will pay off in the end. Hope this helps you.
