Several people I know have a fear of needles, it seems that is quite a common fear. You need to take some deep breaths before you go in to have the shots. Think about something calming to you. Focus on something in the room, and keep your eyes on that.
When it is time to get the shot, try to relax as much as possible. If you are up on the table, ask them if you can lay down. Depending on what kind of shot you are getting, they will give it in your arm or your hip.
I know it is easier said than done, but if you relax when you get the shot, the pain won't seem as bad. Also, remember, usually it is not the shot that hurts, but the medication used. Maybe the shots you are getting won't hurt at all.
If you have to, close your eyes so you don't see the syringes or needles, this should help with the passing out.
Good Luck, you'll be fine.
a nurse told me one time when i was getting a shot in my hip to wiggle me toes it keeps the mucles from tightening up and the pain is a lot less try to relax
I have such a phobia that I begin to hyperventilate and freak out, [just for bloodwork, or the little diabetic finger pricker at each doctor checkup!] and sometimes the doctors REFUSE to give me shots it's so bad, so you're not alone.
Try icing the injection site beforehand, [go to the nearest convenience store and buy a cup of ice or something, ect.], and just not thinking about it.
Take a deep breath right before they inject, and release it when they poke you, it helps.
GOOD LUCK. Don't pass out :[
