When bees/hornets/wasps attack or feel threatened, they let out a smell that can be detected by other bees/hornets/wasps for miles. They come to the rescue, and attack in defense of their fellow bug. This smell can stay with you if not washed off well.
However, you can also just be frightened. They sense the adrenaline and heat you put out when you are scared, and are attracted.
