What does the wite lines on your finger nails mean?

If you have white lines going horizontally over every finger nail is it a sign of poisoning. If not white dots on your finger nails are like little bruises from everyday use and they will have to grow out in order to get rid of them.

i was told when i was younger and even till this day that it means someone loves you when you have those white lines. their weird though
