Yes, just about anything can be used to get high. It can also be dangerous
I remember a very slight high from it (this was at a therapeutic dose for pain), so yes it is possible.
I believe you would have to take quite a bit more than the normal analgesic dose to feel true euphoria though. The problem is most pills have a large amount of acetaminophen combined with the hydrocodone and acetaminophen will cause dangerous side effects at large doses. The only “safe” way to abuse hydrocodone is to separate out the acetaminophen.
Pure hydrocodone is a potent narcotic. It's a class 2 controlled substance and isn’t prescribed very often because of the abuse potential. When it's combined with acetaminophen it has less value as a drug of abuse and is therefore only class 3.
I've taken them for pain (legally prescribed to me I might add) and all I remember really is that they put me to sleep.
However, i'm sure it's possible, but these are Narcotics. Your friend shouldn't know what they sell for as street value! Taking pain pills you don't need, especially if your trying to get high, is dangerous! They can also be highly addictive, which made me afraid to take mine unless I absolutely had to. Since they're apparently $10 each, why waste money on something like that...hopefully you're not considering actually buying them and trying it.
So, the answer to your question is your friend may be right about getting high - but I have no idea what they sell for on the street.
I'm not sayin go do it but, yes you can get high off them, take 3 or 4 and you'll feel the blast, and as for $10 a pill...your gettin ripped off, if they are 5mg's 2 bucks a piece..5 a piece for 10mgs...trust mewhen i say, its a fun drug but Hell to get off them! DON"T do it!
