Back pain while sitting.?


Question:
I was rear-ended a week ago from yesterday, so hard it totaled my car. The ER said x-rays were fine and my regular check up doctor last Thursday said I was just imflammed and sore. I am going back this Thursday because it seems the pain in my lower back is worsening. The weird thing about it is when I sit for long periods, I work 8 to 9 hours a day (sitting at a computer) I usually start to feel the pain around lunch time and by this time 3 to 4 p.m. I am moving & re-adjusting trying to get comfort...even the pain pills don't elevate the pain, only when I get home and lay down. What could this be? Thanks.

When in an accident, soft tissue injury is not easily diagnosed for 3-4 days. Think about when you work out. The first day you may feel great, but as time goes on, the pain and discomfort increases. This is due to the lactose (toxins) that build up in the muscle tissue due to being strained to the point that the muscle is torn (very small microscopic tears). Lower back pain is a common injury and sitting is the worst thing for a back that may injured because it puts the most pressure on that area. Standing is the next most relaxing thing and lying down is the best thing you can do. You may find that you can get more relief if you get up an d walk around for a few minutes every hour or so while at work. A chiropractor can treat your back pain with manipulation and heat (at this point ice would do you no good). Once treated, you will probably find your pain will eventually subside. Anti-inflammatory medication or n-saids (ibuprofin or something along the lines of Aleve) might help ease your muscles as well. Try taking a warm shower and I like to use Tiger Balm on the area causing you the most pain. Lie down for a few minutes and enjoy the warm feeling. The aroma (eucalyptus) is also nice.

Hi Cosmo. Sorry to hear about your injury. It is time to see a specialist - a doctor that will diagnose and treat the CAUSE of your pain and not just try to mask it with drugs. Make an appointment with your family Chiropractor.

I suggest going back to you doctor and asking him/her to order physical therapy. When I hurt my back at work, I did some PT sessions and it really helped. The therapist helped me with different stretching and strengthening exercises. You could also see a chiropractor.
I to work teaching computers.I have the same problem.I think you have pinch nerves in your
vertbra.Probly at the bottom.when you set for a long time you wiggle around and it don't help.
when you lay down to rest you relax moving the
nerve.have him give you some pain pills.or mussle relaxers. sorry i help you,and we know

well it sounds like nerve damage, u need to have MRI when u go back to the doctor. r it might be u hurt a disc u really need MRI xrays don't really show up thing i no they said i didn't have nothing wrong had a MRI and found 4 rupture disc
