I think I might have a meniscus tear?

Question:
I have been having knee pain, mainly in my left knee. It gets stuck and stiff at time when trying to straighten it out and the pain is on the side. Along with that, my knee feels very weak. However, the pain is not there all the time. If one has a tear, is the pain there all the time? I can't see a doctor for a month and a half. Will the tear get worse or just remain the same?

Answers:
well it does sound like a tear to me, and no it doesnt always hurt you all the time, regaurdless, i would get it checked out by a doctor so that you can get the proper tx for your condition. as for the pain getting worse, i would try taking an anti-inflammatory and maybe some ice on the knee when it really starts to bother you. sorry you have to wait so long, you should look around for an earlier appoitment.
