Can over pronation lead to over supination as my PT seem to be confussed as to an overall diagnosis.?

Question:
I spained my right ankle several time but seven years ago I had a nasty spain and have been unable to run since without severe pain. Over the last two year my foot got worst finally I was sent to physio therapy but they ran a rotation system so I saw three PTs each giving me a list of things wrong with my foot. I also sprained the other ankle and chipped a bone but they never bothered with that foot. I had many different exercises to do including running but I have achilles tendonitis in both feet!. I was also told my hip and knee was misaligned, I was not walking correctly, had scar tissue, planar fascitis, and a bunion. Since physio I now have pains in calf, hip, both knees, and lower back. I still havn't had a diagnosis.. I've been seeing the same consultant, but I'm lucky to get three minutes every 10 months. I now find I'm in the sad position of having to self-diagnosis. Can over pronation lead to supination or can you have both? This information will help me greatly.

Answers:
Your subtalar joint is in a neutral, pronated, or supinated position.

A normal subtalar joint (STJ) goes through all 3 positions while walking. A person who over pronates spends less time in a supinated position than they should and vice-versa.

I would see a podiatrist or an orthopod to help you out with your problem
