Why are children more susceptible to stomach aches?
Question:
Answers:
As we get older, we're subjected to all the germs, bacteria and diseases and our bodies build up immunities over time. As children, we're still building up those immunities and are more susceptible to illnesses.
Also, children tend to feel pain more acutely than adults as we've had years to get accustomed to minor aches and pains so they don't bother us so much anymore.
Because its a non-specific ailment that Mom can't PROVE doesn't exist.so they can stay home from school.
I raised 3 sons---and i KNOW at least half of the "tummyaches" were fake.but what's a Mom to do?
1) they over eat
2) they eat weird food combinations that will upset their digestion
3) they are more often infested with worms than adults
This is a longshot, but I remember getting awful stomach aches as a child. When I stopped eating meat, INCLUDING MCDONALDS, they all but disappeared. I'm convinced my fast food diet had A LOT to do with the time I spent cringing and sweating (sorry to be so graphic).
Also, I remember that when I switched from Doritos and Soda (as a pre-teen partier) to copious amounts of beer (as a late-teen partier), my gut (though not always my stomach) usually felt better afterwards. Ah, the irony!
