My shoulders and arms hurt ?


Question:
I woke up today with my neck, arms and mainly shoulders hurting and aching ... I played videogames yesterday (specifically Eyetoy, a game where you move around alot), is this why it aches? When i write, my wrist hurts a bit too. What can I do to try and help this?. I'm 14. I can't get a massage because I don't have the time, I've got homework and assignments today and school tomorrow.

Lactic acid in your muscles causes the pain.
Doing stretching will help get rid of it.
Buy a couple of dumbbells after the pain goes away and exercise your arms and shoulders. This will make your muscles stronger so afterwards, the pain will be a lot less.
My advice is -
Don't spend too much time on videogames. Your postures might be improper and it caused the ache. Since you are still schooling, you should discipline yourself to may be two hours the most each day for videogames if you have to, really have to, play the game.
A hot shower & some stretching will help. Since you`re obviously still young, it shouldn`t last more than a day or two. Get some light weights & do some upper body work to keep this from happening again.

A Hot Aveeno Oatmeal bath with a little Epson Salts for about an hour would definitely do the trick. Trust me on that one.
Sounds like you have been sitting in a slumped position, you may have slept wrong and got stiff. Playing video games, holding a pencil or reading a book puts strain on the wrists, so try to change positions when doing that. Make sure your posture is good, another thing is a chiropactor may have longer lasting results than a massage. I wear a wrist brace when I sleep if I am having trouble.
