Can you move it? If you can't without extreme pain, then it probably is broken. I have to tape my pinky to the next for stability after straining it when something heavy slipped through my hands. I have use of it, but it hurts to grab or squeeze something baseball sized or larger. Taping it helps a lot.
Please Go to the Dr. to be sure.
Good luck.
sprained.
trust me, you'd know if it was broken!
you should go to the doctor, it could be either, its hard to tell without an x-ray
feel better
try moving it...if you can move it without crying out in agony pain..then its sprained...if you cant move it one bit its broken...if it was broken youd be able to tell for sure, it'd hurt like a bi*** belive me i broke my pinkie and sprained it before.. i can just suggest taking so pain reliver and put an ice pack on it...if some of the swelling doesnt go down in about a day or so you might wanna go see the doc
You know what, that's out of my scope of practice. If you can move it, it's probably just a sprain. Of course, any discoloration is bruising... To be on the safe side, go get you pinkie checked out. Asking others for advice, isn't a bad idea, but unless one of us is a doctor, you'd be better off getting the opinion of a professional...
well i've broken my finger before, sooo... feel along your bone by pressing gently with fingers of other hand. If the bones seem as straight as on the other hand, you're fine. If you almost pass out because of the pain, it's probably broken.
