Pre existing condition exclusion?

Question:
i just joined a new company and their health insurance has a pre -existing condition exclusion. what exactly does this mean? i had health insurance at my previous company and didnt have any gaps. my concern is, i went to a doctor to get my skin checked out and the dr. gave me some medicine for the pimples. now im thinking of going to see the doctor again, does this mean it wont be covered because i had my skin checked out before i joined this new company?

Answers:
You'll want to contact your insurance company to find out exactly what is and what isn't included in the pre-existing clause since each company is different. In general, if you saw a doctor within 6 months before getting on the new policy it won't be covered. However, since you didn't have any gaps they might waive the waiting period for some conditions.
