Anyone that can help with MS CONTIN!!?

Question:
So i have been on ms contin (morphine sulfate) for 2 mnths...i use to take oxycontin but I am on GAMP and they wouldn't approve it...so the problem with the ms contin is that it gives me really bad head rushes and makes me very sleepy...it does ok with the pain but i almost can't take them before work now cause it just gets me so drowsy...the only problem is that i tried to look up other medicines that work similar to the ms contin and it looks like non of them are approved through my state insurance?? Does anyone know of anything that might work better and be approved through my GAMP that won't make me so sleepy?? by the way I take percocet for break through pain like 6 5mg a day.

Answers:
Maybe suggest MSIR (morphine sulfate instant release). Same opioid family, just instant release instead of time release (which is what you're on). Your physician might not want you on an instant release though. Talk to your physician to get alternative medications that are on your formulary.

Oh, and you might want to contact your insurance company and request a formulary list of opioid narcotics that are covered under your pharmacy benefits plan.
I have the same problem I took ms contin and it did the same thing to me.If your medication was changed because the affects are as good as they once were ask your pharmacist about other medications similar to the oxycontin that would be covered by your insurance
The pharmacists helps me to find a new drug when I build up an immunity to the ones I have been taking after all they study drugs and know them better than anybody else
