Basically it's pus...a collection of dead white blood cells that attack bacteria and die. There are other cells as well...red blood cells, and collagen cells. It's basically a mass of dead cells that are there fighting the infection.

Yeah - that was gross. What came out was pus and infection. The last thing that they ended up cutting off is part of the cyst pouch. I certainly hope that it was a real doctor doing all of that!

I would say that the cyst was definetly infected, I have seen sebaceous cycts that have usually come out in a ball, never anything like that, the first stuff was actually pus, dirt and oil combination, the last being the cyst itself! Thanks for sharing the video, gross but interesting!
The REALLY gross thing is, that it will just come right back, because the doctor didn't remove whatever was irritating the skin on the inside. If I had to guess, I would say that it was a shallow stab wound at one time that left a small piece of debris behind. And the body tried to prevent the irritation by first forming a skin layer around the irritant (that thing at the end that he ended up cutting off--somewhat) and then by cushioning it with sebaceous secretions that turned into pus.
The ONLY way to get something like that out of the flesh entirely is to cut it open and to cut out all the lining of the cyst, so that when raw flesh touches raw flesh it will heal without that pocket inside.
Congrats on making me scream for my sister saying "EWE!!!! OH GOD MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP! Why wont it en... HOW MUCH STUFF IS IN THERE!??!?!?!?" lol For some reason that is the only thing I hate to see. Puss. And blood.
That was great! I especially liked the running commentary and groans from his friends! That thing on his neck was probably a sebaceous cyst and the stuff that came out was something called sebum (a substance that is almost as gross as it sounds). Sebum is an oily substance secreted by glands in your skin. When one of these glands becomes blocked, it gets distended and cystic, like the one we saw being popped!
