You are not alone. I don't like 'em either !! Wish I had an answer for you but can't come up with any.
well since I was a kid, I was already scared of needles though I should get used to it because since then,I have problems with my teeth...Well, I just close y eyes and pray that everything's going to be okay..I also tell myself that I' a brave girl!
I have found that if you take a big, deep breath whenever the needle is going in that it doesn't hurt as bad... I know this because I am a nurse who starts about 5 IV's a day and I get my patients to do this, but also because I give blood regularly and often get blood tests... it works for me... it still hurts and little, but it gets your mind on something else.. try it and good luck!!
I've been an insulin dependent diabetic for the past 6 years so my fear of needles has kind of worn off. I don't mind giving myself shots but anyone else gives me anxiety. As weird as it sounds I found that it helps when I have to get a shot at the dr, give blood, etc. that I look directly at the needle as I get the shot. Probably due to me freaking out, I feel this glazed over, "I'm not really here" kind of feeling. Maybe try that next time. :]
alright, im gonna sound like an asshole for this. but threaten to fight anyone who tries to give you a shot, swear at them. etc... theyre used to it... but always remember to apologize afterwards...
