some times red is healing and that buggy stuff is just the scab after it gets wet you prolly just need to go to the docter to have it looked at if you can they can use a steral cotton swab and rub it in ur gash and tell you if its infected and if so with . maybe an antibiotic. is the blood really dark ? some times bleeding can be a sign of infection if it is really dark blood.but you need to see a docter if you can because if it is cut right straight down to the bone you can get a bone infection which is very serious so see a docter untill then go to the drug store and buy some sterille gauz and some antibiotic ointiment and keep it clean till you can get to the docter plz see a docter I had a wound for 3and a half years i was injured with a softball and didnt take it as serious as i shoulda.and i had to have 11 surgreys and went thru hell So see a docter just to be sure
Better safe then sorry
but if you absultly cant see a docter at the pharmacy they should have steral gauz diffrent sizes get the one to fit your wound and they will have sterille saline in a can clean it out with that and buy a box of rubber gloves keep ur hands off of it get an antibiotic ointment and some medical tape
Step 1 put gloves on rinse the wound out very well
Step 2 change gloves put antibiotic cream on and then put the gauz over it and use the medical tape to hold it down
you should go to a doctor and ask him about it it could be infected or it could be to long or to deep to heal so i would go to a doctor and if you can't then just wait a while and see what happens if it dont get better go see the doctor.
I would try Liqiud Band- Aid or ask your pharmasit at a local drug store, they might be able to point you in the right deriction.
If you try to liquid band aid, warning it will burn a little when you put it on, but it's worth it, did I mention it is water proof.
Check out this site, it has FAQ's about the liquid band-aid
GET To A Doctor AND FAST!
I fell on a piece of glass and tore deeply into the layes of skin on my upper thigh - right through the muscles. I tried to treat it myself, but instead it became infected, just as your wound sounds. Don't waste time being an amateur doctor as I was, they had to cut a piece of flesh and now I have a v shaped cavity, that although healed, I can put 2 fingers into! My wound was no larger than about an inch and a 1/4, at most . . but lack of immediate care which I should have sought, has left an indentation at the very top of my thigh! An ugly cavity indeed!
Seriously, don't waste any more time thinking it will heal itself . . it needs medical care! Seek it quickly, please!
. RED usually means an infection. IF it heals in that manner, it'll leave a big scar. Or it might get worse. You should get it cleaned and stitched NOW.
"...Debridement is a medical term referring to the removal of dead, damaged, or infected tissue to improve the healing potential of the remaining healthy tissue. Often this removal is surgical. "
"...Most cuts that require treatment should be stitched, stapled, or closed with skin adhesives within 6 to 8 hours after the injury. Some cuts that require treatment can be closed as long as 24 hours after the injury. Your risk of infection increases the longer the cut remains open." .
