Can you damage your vocal chords/speech by not speaking?

Question:
I'm pretty much a borderline mute. I barely speak at all. Today I played a karaoke video game I have that I haven't picked up in years and I was terrible at it. (I was bad before, but I could atleast sing properly) now my voice was all scratchy and raspy and a lot of the time it was like I was trying to make noise and nothing was coming out. So can not speaking/being mute damage your vocal chords or speech?

Answers:
i doubt it. Its just because you vocal chords are so unused to actually being used.
I'm also a very quiet person and I found out that when I don't speak for a long time my voice gets kind of raspy. If you don't like conversation then why don't you do something like recite a poem each day or say the abc's. You're going to need your voice someday and you'll want something to come out.
Thts no possible to do
