I run a mile or two a day and me right knee hurts sometimes when I put pressure on it after I run.?

Question:
What is causing it and what can I do to make it stop. Oh, and what can I do to relive the pain. Im 14 btw.

Answers:
It could be the type of shoes you are wearing- It could also be that one leg is shorter than the other. Cold and hot compresses would help alleviate the pain, along with an anti-inflammatory med, like motrin or aleve. Take care, and if this persists, PLEASE get it checked out. You may want to use an ace wrap, also, to help with the pain in ur knee. In addition, you may want to take a small break from running for a few days. Elevating ur knee may help. If this continues, check it out. Good Luck to you & TAKE CARE. PS- Walking is good, too, if this is causing you so much pain.
Take a break, you are putting to much pressure on your joint. You need to rest for a few days. Stretch it, and ice it. Hope you feel better.
get better shoes maybe. And maybe your not running properly
It's really important to replace your shoes if they are old, because they can cause serious knee damage. If new shoes don't help, running only 3-5 times a week could help.

I don't know if you're growing fast, but if you are then the stress on your joints added to growing pains could be the problem.

Either way, I would run less for a while, and GET NEW SHOES WITH PLENTY OF SUPPORT.

btw the same thing happened to me last year.
I get the problem too sometimes. When you go running, put wrap right below the knee cap. That should keep the pressure off of it
