Question:
my brothers knee pops out of place and is really sore and it has alot of pressure on it he says...he is 12 almost 13...he plays basketball and football but not constantly to the point where that would be the problem...what could this be??
Answers:
The ligaments that keep the knee from moving out of place may be "loose" sometimes by immobilizing his knee for a few weeks can help. Also, he may have tear of some sort, but the only way of knowing that is by having an MRI scan. Try keeping it elevated and keeping ice on it and also - sometimes taking an anti-inflammatory can help,,,,, there is aleve and advil over the counter. Try that for about a week and if not better, then he should see an orthopaedic surgeon.
