Severe knee pain plus possible fever, please help me?

Question:
my knee is causing me extreme pain, i have rheumatoid arthritis and i am currently taking medicine for it, but that is for my left knee. i woke up 3 days ago and my right knee is killing me. It really only hurts when i put pressure on it. it is swollen up pretty good and the pain goes all the way down my lower leg. my right calf is also 1 inch bigger than my left. I am also somewhat breaking a fever i think, i begin to sweat for no reason and pretty bad. i just started taking some antibiotics today. i have diabetes and quit taking my medicine for 6 days due to lack of time to get it refilled. although i cant imagine this has anything to do with my knee. I plan on seeing the dr. monday, but would really like to hear what ideas you might have. thanks for you help. im 45, male, if that matters. thanks

Answers:
I'm not sure if my diagnosis is correct, but you could have lyme disease. Lyme disease causes joint pains, and fevers. Check for a tick bite. I hope this helps.
