Sore throat for 2 weeks?

Question:

I know this question has been asked alot, but I can't find anyone's that was like mine and I'm starting to get worried.. I've had this sore throat for 2 weeks now and it's not getting any better. It started out as just a little pain and then two days later, it escaladed to this excrutiating pain so that I could barely swallow. This lasted for about 6 days. It's subsided a little bit now, but it still hurts to eat, drink and swallow. I've been taking dayquil around the clock and eating bags of cough drops but NOTHING is working. I called the doctor but they can't get me in until tuesday. Does anybody have any suggestions in the mean-time? Thanks!

Your throat is probably sore, from being infected.

If you describe the symptoms that you had up there. they should see you right away otherwise they are saying they don't care. They are saying "you've lived this long and haven't said anything, so suffer"... go to the emergency room or if you have one, minor illness care.

But at this point, you're pass the fever stage etc and in the end and money down the drain, unless you just want confirmation, like they think you want.
They are like policemen, they like blood and gore, with limbs falling off.
Have you noticed that when you get to the doctor, for some reason you begin to not feel as bad??

Try gargling with Listerine several times a day.

Even though you've had your tonsils out, you could have strep. Go make an appointment to get a test. They stick a thing down your throat yes and you may gag or throw up (I never have), but they can cure you in a day or two!!

You could have strept throat infection and may need antibiotics. Go to the docs to have a throat culture done. In the mean time, try gargling warm salt water. It may help a little until then.
