I'm 16, should I head to the ER?
Question:
They did some tests, and said that I was fine.
Now, my chest is tight, and I'm having problems breathing...
Should I head to the ER?
Answers:
If you're having difficulty breathing a trip to your local emergency room would be your best bet. Breathing problems are something that need to be taken seriously and treated properly before they get worse. I suggest you go to the emergency room for treatment, rather than waiting.
Hope this helps, good luck. :-)
Yes. As a paramedic I would have talked you into going to the hospital. The cardiac and respiratory implications of that are high and should be evaluated by a physician. And look what happened, now you are having difficulty breathing, they did a poor job.
It probably would be a good idea. Tightness in the chest and breathing problems could be anything from a heart attack to an anxiety attack. Either one needs attention. If you're having pain or a squeezing sensation, take an aspirin before you go to the hospital, because if it is your heart, that will help.
It's possible that it's nothing serious, but it's better not to take a chance. And, no, 16 is not too young to have a heart attack.
I agree with Blaze. Unless you refused treatment the emergency guys should have recommended you go to a hospital. Get it checked.
Anytime your breathing is affected you need to have it checked out. It won't hurt to have them look you over but it might hurt if you don't. GO!
yes!
As a teenager myself I can tell you that whatever stigmas you have about going to get help - and yes, I realize that this is different - you should find some if your health is in potential danger. If it does turn out to be something harmful, would you rather you'd stayed home, or would you rather you'd gone?
yes go to the er something could be happening if it is nothing better safe then sorry
yes- the same thing happened to my mom and it ended up being something that had to do with her lightning strike. you DEFINITELY need treatment for that---it can become serious if not treated. good luck!
Where I work, You would have had no choice but to go to the hospital (you're technically still a minor). That aside, Yes. You should go to the hospital. Electrical shocks, especially lightning, can have all sorts of adverse reactions to your whole body, not just your heart (which is the major concern with an electrocution).
