Red stool unhealthy?

Question:
Is red stool unhealthy? Concerned. I'm concerned. It' not my poo, but is red poop bad? Why?

Answers:
Yes because it is more than likely blood. This could be caused by a number of things:
internal or external hemorrhoids
anal fishers
stomach ulcers
just to name a few, the best bet is to go to a physician's office and tell them of the trouble then will probably do a rectal exam (not as painful as it sounds) and then from there they will let you know if there is a way to treat it or refer you to a specialist.
Is it bright red or dark red? If it's bright red you might have a torn hemerroid or a tear in your anus. If it's dark red you might be bleeding further up in your colon or even your small bowel. Go get it checked out by your doctor.
Yes, because that means there could be blood in your stools. This is a sign of bowel cancer...get it checked out before it's too late
red?? If you think it's blood, go to the doctor asap. usually if there's a bleeding farther up, it'd come out more like black and smells really bad. If, however, it's a one time thing .. ask the owner of the stool ;) if s/he has eaten anything with really red color recently.
Hi, you probably ate something to trigger the color. Or if it is bright red you could have bleeding beause you forced a BM. Sometimes you push too hard and irritate yourself.
