Can i give a dog acetaminophen to help with pain?

Question:

Answers:
Dogs can have tylenol. I know this for a fact as I used to have a bulldog who lived well past the average time a bulldog lives. He had arthritis and the vet instructed me to give him tylenol for the pain. He lived until he was 14 years old and he did not die from taking the tylenol.

It's generally not a good idea, dogs don't tolerate it well and it can be really toxic in even small doses.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! this is very toxic to dogs. Baby aspirin is the only thing they can safely take. other than what a Vet can prescribe. If the dog is in allot of pain, please take it to the vets office. Mild pain can be relieved with baby aspirin in SMALL doses. I have a 26 pound dog and I can give her one aspirin every 6 hours. But, she has stronger pain meds from the vet that work so much better.
BTW,cats can have acetaminophen..but then, cats are strange anyway
