Can you get high off pain killers?

Question:
if so can someone fill me in on the details. thx

Answers:
I think not, they knock you out, therefore no pain.
don't know about high. but you can get seriously addicted. i think you can get either definetly high or addicted to Oxycontin, (hillbilly heroin its called)
codeine (and other narcotics often used as a pain killer) are in the same family as opiates. Depends on what you mean by "high" in particular, but yes, narcotic pain killers can alter your state of mind.
yes you can get a high off pain killers..thats why people get addicted..it really depends on what you are taking ...but please dont try it or abuse pain killers ,,,because one day you may actually need them and it would take a very potent script to kill your pain..and drs. really dont like writing really strong narcotics
depends the pain killers, you can also get addicted to them.Initially they will make your stomach upset and make you feel tired and after a few days they will make you feel amped up.then you will get tired and need them to get untired and that's when the addiction begins.your better off taking as you need them for pain then get off them as soon as you can.
First you talk to your doctor so he or she can taper you off the meds? And if that dont work you need rapid detox or go to hospital or a drug treatment program!!I dont know your meds or your situation if you are having withdraws now call 911 call 911 or go to hospital
