What's a good quick relief for muscle pain?

Question:
I do a martial art called kendo once a week, which puts a lot of work on your calves, so I have pretty firm calf muscles. But I went on vacation and missed 3 weeks, and the practice immediately after I got back was a pretty strenuous one. I stretched well, and didn't think it was that bad, but the morning after, my calves hurt terribly. I don't think I pulled anything, but they feel really sore, and whenever I shift my weight to the front of my feet, or anywhere forward of my heels, it's really painful. If I try to massage them, or even put slight pressure on them, it hurts. It's been two days and they're getting a little better, but I don't think at this rate they'll be better in time for the next practice. Any quick remedy suggestions? (I'm in my teens, so I doubt it'll have lasting effects.)

Answers:
I'd say a nice hot bath with epsom salts. Whenever I ran cross country and all parts of my legs and ankles became sore I always had them after school. Also listening to music while you do this is very relaxing.
ice after every practice and ib proufin
Aleve aspirin as a great pain reliver...now they have certain aspirins for back and body- not just head.
Well legally I think that Excedrin does an excellent job with relieving pain...combined with Ice it would work wonders.
By the way I am in Tae Kwon Do and this is what I use...and it works well...
I'm a Massage Therapist, and I can honestly say the best thing for your body is to go get a massage. A Professional Massage Therapist can cater their massage techniques, including pressure, to meet your exact needs. Since your injury is in the acute stage, massage will be fantastic for it. I'd also recommend getting massage on a regular basis, because it will prevent further injuries from happening. It's something Massage Therapy has been proven to do and lots of athletes will now incorporate into their trainings. Find someone that does Muscle Energy Techniques as they can reset your proprioceptors within your muscle and get you back to feeling like yourself in no time.
