Cut to wrist during accident while meat cutting?

Question:

I sliced my wrist (1 &1/2 inches down from wrist)accidently while meat cutting. Very deep, and had 5 stiches put on. It has been 1 week and a day, I removed the stiches and the area looks a lot better, but still terrible. I realize it will scar, and right now it is kinda indented. Will the skin on my wrist always be indented like that, or does it go smooth after time. Also how many more weeks until it does not look so noticeable.?

Next time just beat your meat... that always comes out with great results

people heal differently. i had a 2nd degree burn on my wrist from a pot, and the scar has healed perfectly. no trace of it.

you'll be fine, and be careful with those knives!

carefull next time. I had an uncle lose two fingers while cutting meat. It'll leave a little scar there depending on how old you are. If you are a teenager, then it should smooth over because your skin cells reproduce and replace themselves fast. If your older you might get a scar

Hi,

I smashed my wrist in an accident & had two opperations to repair the bone. Two parallal scars about 3 inches long have healed smooth. Once the skin had closed, my Doctor got me to massage the wound every day and rub a cream into it. Sorry, can't remember what type of cream but check with your Doc. The cream assisted the healing and the massage helps stop the scar thickening and becoming hard under the skin.

Have a chat with your Doc, they should be able to advise.
