You need to start re-toning your body slowly. Try your regular exercise routine - but start out only doing one third of what you normally do and then rebuilding to half and three-quarters - until you are back up to a normal work out. Getting sick is the body's way of telling you something - take care of yourself!
Theres a lesson to be learnt from this. Figure out why your so weak right now and what you should learn from it. Maybe if you were playing sports right now you could have sustained a worse injury and someones looking out for you right now...Look at the positive.. Theres always a reason.
Not to worry! It's very common to lose muscle tone in one week but it comes back fast so chill out. Just take it a little slower than usual for a week or so and you'll be back to normal. The more muscle you have the more you notice this effect when you get sick. It's why people recovering from something feel more tired than usual afterwards and are told to take it easy for a while. It's normal! Your regular acitivities may feel a bit strange at first so slow down and don't push it.
You need to let your body ease back into the fitness after being sick for 1 week.
Make sure you get plenty of sleep each night.
Eat healthy, whole foods and decrease the consumption of sweets until you get your strength back.
The first week back into the gym, don't try to set any personal records. Lift only 60-70% of what you normally lift.
Soon, your body will let you know that it's ready for more.
for every day your sick it takes a certain time to get back to 100% don't push yourself too hard because you'll only be hurting your recovery by adding stress. your immune system is probably still fighting the problem and your body is working hard to go back to homeostasis (your bodies healthy balanced state)
Working out too much will slow this process so give it time to get better.
Please do take it easy. It helps to listen to what your body is saying. Right now, I guess you need to take it one step at a time and in a month's time you will be back to what you were.
